Printing tips

  • Turn off fit-to-page — actual size keeps the grid at its printed 28pt.
  • The set is ink-light: plain lettering, white background, thin rules.
  • One file covers Letter and A4; print at 100% on either.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How does 28pt compare with a typical puzzle magazine?
Magazine grids usually print near 11pt. At 28pt these letters are roughly two and a half times taller — closer to large-print book headings than to body text.
Is each weather puzzle a different grid?
Yes — ten separately generated grids drawing different sets of 20 words from a 49-word weather pool. A duplicate-detection check runs over the whole set before it is published.
Any tips for reusing these in a group setting?
Laminate printed grids and hand out dry-erase markers, or simply reprint from the PDF — there is no copy limit. The one-puzzle-per-page layout makes both approaches easy.
Can a teacher use the weather set in class?
Yes — weather vocabulary fits science units nicely, and classroom photocopying is expressly permitted. Print the key pages separately to keep answers off student desks.
